Gated View (2), 2022
Jennilee Marigomen is a Vancouver-based photographer whose images linger in the quiet space between the natural and the built world. Working across editorial, art, and commercial projects, she is known for distilling everyday scenes into images that feel at once familiar and slightly otherworldly, using soft light, restrained colour, and precise framing to reveal small moments of stillness and human intervention that often go unnoticed. Her work has been exhibited internationally and featured in publications, campaigns, and exhibitions that explore our changing relationship to landscape and place, including her recent series “Sehnsucht,” which reflects on environmental longing and resilience.
For The Acorn and Lila TasteMakers billboard series, Marigomen presents “Gated View (2)” (2022), a photograph that looks through a warped grid of netting toward a blurred horizon. The image invites viewers to pause on Main Street and consider notions of boundary and permeability—how we frame the world around us, and how light, air, and possibility still slip through.
