The Acorn Artist Series

The Acorn Artist Series

The Acorn Artist Series shines a light on artists in Vancouver whose work we admire greatly and wish to proliferate in our own humble way.  Every month or so we make a new artist card that gets handed out to our guests at the end of their dining experience.  Our hopes are that they take it home as a memento of the Acorn but also as a foray into what is being created by some of our city's finest emerging and established artists.

VINTAGE + VEG IV: The Acorn + Mayne Island Brewing Company at The Acorn Restaurant; Wednesday, April 10th, 2019
120.00

VINTAGE + VEG IV:

Wednesday, April 10th, 2019
Arrival 6:30pm; Dinner 7:00pm

Vancouver’s internationally renowned vegetable-forward restaurant, The Acorn, presents an exclusive, limited seating six-course dinner in collaboration with Mayne Island Brewing, Wednesday, April 10th, 2019. Tickets are $120 (including beer pairings, tax and gratuity).

Mayne Island Brewing has established itself as one of the more fascinating and adventurous breweries to surface in the currant renaissance of small batch, craft beers. Located on Mayne Island, brewer Michael Garrett has embraced the limitations of small batch brewing by creating unique infusions with ingredients foraged straight from his backyard. His penchant for seeking out unusual blends of herbs, vegetables and fruits makes him an ideal collaborator with chef Brian Luptak of The Acorn. Both brewer and chef have noted their admiration for the traditions of their craft while always seeking to dive deeper into experimentation. This philosophical symmetry will lead the lucky guests of this dinner on an adventurous and often unpredictable journey through all six courses.

All dinner items are unique to this event and will not be available on The Acorn’s regular menu. Please contact the restaurant if you have any dietary concerns. Due to the nature of this event, gluten-free options will not be available.

The Acorn specializes in sourcing wild foraged and locally farmed ingredients in the creation of its ever-changing menu. It has received glowing reviews from The New York Times, Bon-Appetite, CNN, Huffington Post, and the Daily Meal, to name just a few. Most recently, The Acorn was named #1 of the 50 best vegan-friendly restaurants in the world by Big Seven Travel.

This will be The Acorn’s fourth instalment of its Vintage + Veg collaborative series. Vintage + Veg is The Acorn’s opportunity to create off-menu dishes, often working with one farm or forager, that are designed with a particular winery, brewery, or distiller’s unique vision and pairings in mind. Previous collaborations have included Odd Society Spirits, Kanazawa Wines, Summerhill Winery, Klippers Organics and Lance Wild Crafts Foraging.

The Arbor is a playful, quick service, two-patio neighbourhood restaurant focused on good times, great drinks and refined indulgences. Its kitchen uses fresh, wild foraged and otherwise real plant-based ingredients to create familiar comfort foods - like the signature Arburger - while its bar program zeroes in on wines, beers and ciders that pair well with a deep fryer. It is the accessible grab-and-go sister/sequel to the award-winning Acorn Restaurant (located on the same block) with the same uncompromising attentions being paid to quality, detail and deliciousness.
